Innyvale's Casey Mulvey set a new Ulster women's shot put record of 15.62 metres at the European throwing cup in Split, Croatia on Sunday.
Mulvey improved her personal best of 13.66m by nearly two meters to set the new Ulster record as the 18-year-old finished second in the U23 B final.
Elsewhere, Donegal man Dempsey McGuigan will be happy with his seasonal debut. The Finn Valley man finished in seventh place with a 67.43m throw in the men’s hammer.Swinford AC’s Micheala Walsh finished fifth in the Shot Put. Walsh had thrown over 15m with her third throw but saved the best for last with a 15.06m on her sixth and final attempt.
