Stephen Gollogly’s last-gasp penalty goal saw Carrickmacross open the Monaghan SFC with a dramatic victory at home to Latton.
Carrickmacross recorded a 1-8 to 1-6 victory having trailed 1-4 to 0-4 at the break; Shane Slevin’s goal on 13 minutes separating the sides.
The hosts were better in the second half and two points from Donnach Swinburne saw Carrickmacross reduce the margin to a single point eight minutes from time.

Latton looked set for victory before Carrickmacross were awarded a penalty right at the death and it was duly dispatched by Gollogly.
