Carrick Cruisers made their debut in the National league at the weekend and while it wasn't a winning one it was still historic. They travelled to Malahide where they went down by 93 points to 84, and earlier 9 point lead for the home side been the difference at the end. Q1 finished with Malahide leading 26 to 18 and while the Cruisers fought hard over the reminder of the game they couldn't close the gap. 3 pointers from the hosts were key to the win with a scoring rate of 11/23 (48%). For Cruisers, Colin Kahl had 35 points and 14 rebounds, with Benji Vazquez Gomez on 20 points, and Ramanus Ramanauskas on 12 points.
Next up for Cruisers is Tolka Rovers on Saturday Oct. 12th at 7.30PM in the Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross.
