A John Fitzpatrick goal four minutes before the break along with an earlier point and scores from Conaty 0-2 (1f), O'Reilly and Fionntan O'Reilly saw the Cavan champions lead 1-9 to six points.

Fionntan O'Reilly 0-2 (1f) and a  John Fitzpatrick point moved Butlersbridge seven points clear but An Riocht fought back with two goals to level the game with nine minutes remaining.

A Caoimhin O'Reilly free immediate restored Butlersbridge lead with John Fitzpatrick finding the net as the Cavan side led 2-14 to 2-10.
