Bohs fans banned from trip to Drogheda United

Bohemian fans have been banned from Monday week’s fixture with Drogheda United.

It follows the throwing of a number of pyrotechnics onto the pitch during Friday night’s 1-0 win at St. Patrick’s Athletic

One of the flares struck Bohemians defender Cian Byrne on the arm. Bohs, manager Declan Devine later explained that Byrne suffered a burn in the incident.

A statement issued by the FAI reads;

Following the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division fixture between St. Patrick’s Athletic FC and Bohemian FC at Richmond Park on Friday, 23 February 2024 in which a Bohemian FC player was struck by a pyrotechnic, an Independent Disciplinary Committee of the FAI has imposed a ban on Bohemian FC spectators from attending their next away fixture versus Drogheda United FC on 4 March 2024 at Weavers Park.

The League of Ireland and FAI would like to remind supporters of the dangers of pyrotechnics usage inside stadia, as outlined in our previous campaign, which is strictly prohibited at all League of Ireland fixtures.

In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, this decision may be appealed.

Bohs entertain Dundalk on Friday, before travelling to Weavers Park on Monday March fourth.
