Ballyhaise secured second place in the Cavan SFC league table seeing off a late Kingscourt fightback.
Ballyhaise collected third win of the championship with 2-12 to 1-11 win over Kingscourt Stars.
A game that Ballyhaise dominated for long periods. Kingscourt had led by three points at half-time seven points to four.
The game swung on the resumption of the second-half as Michael Brady raced through to land games opening goal. Ballyhaise suddenly led 1-5 to 0-7.
Brady landed Balylhaise’s second goal of the game on three-quarter time. However, Kingscourt never gave in, even though trailing by eight points with eight minutes remaining.
A Peter Corrigan goal three minutes into injury time and a point from Philip Tinnelly gave the stars hope but to no avail as Ballyhaise won out 2-12 to 1-11.
Ballyhaise will face Gowna in the quarter-final. Gowna having scored a comeback win against Killygarry. Whereas, Kingscourt Stars enter the relegation play-offs.
