Ballybay Pearse Brothers reached the Monaghan senior football final after an extra-time victory over Inniskeen 4-19 to 1-25.
The ball had only been thrown in when Patrick O’Neill found the Inniskeen net with a total of 10 scores before the first water break as Ballybay led 1-3 to three points.
Ballybay seemed to be on their way to the final when O’Neill found the net for the second time on 27 minutes as Ballybay led 2-6 to five points at the break.
Inniskeen were excellent after the restart sending over seven points with Andrew Woods finding the net to put them ahead all inside 10 second-half minutes.
Oisin McConville’s men looked favorite’s to book a final spot as they led by three before Christopher McGuinness’s goal on 53 minute levelled it at 3-10 to 1-16.
Patrick O’Neill, Michael Hannon and Paul Finlay sent over points to move Ballybay three points clear but two injury time free’s from Donal Meegan and one from Paul Meegan sent the game to extra-time at 3-13 to 1-19.
The sides exchanged three points each to leave it 1-22 to 3-16 at half-time in extra-time, Shane McGuinness pouncing for his second goal half way through the second period of extra-time with Christoper McGuinness and Paul Finlay adding points to see Ballybay through 4-19 to 1-25.
