Following on from the opening weekend of the Allianz National football league, the attention is already turning to Round 2 this coming Saturday and Sunday. In Division 1 Monaghan will welcome Mayo to St Tiernachs Park Clones making it the All Ireland winners and runners up in their opening 2 games of the league. Both sides drew in round 1 with the Westeners putting in a strong 2nd half to finish level with Donegal while Monaghan produced similar against Tyrone. In Division 2 Roscommon are away to Meath in Navan. The Rossies had impressive win over Cork on Sunday past while the Royal county went the whole first half of their encounter with Galway with out scoring and only registered 6 points in the 2nd half in a heavy 1-14 to 6 point defeat. Rossie manager Anthony Cunningham is expecting a response from Meath especially as they will have home advantage
Division 3 will see Longford looking to make up for their opening round loss to Limerick by welcome Louth to Glennon Brothers Pearse park. Mickey Harte's side are also without any points after they suffered a defeat to Laois on Sunday. While in division 4 Cavan will be looking to add to their win over Leitrim when they welcome Wexford to Kingspan Breffni. The South East side suffered a 2 point loss to Sligo last weekend while Michael Grahams side finished strongly in their 4 point win over Andy Moran's charges. The Cavan Manager remarked that the return of a number of players and the performance of others is ensuring a good intensity at training and competition for places
For Leitrim it is a trip to Semple stadium to face Tippeary who drew with Waterford in their opening game last weekend
