Armagh forward Aimee Mackin has won The Croke Park/LGFA player of the month award for April 2023.
Mackin, 26, produced a scintillating display against Laois in the Lidl National League Division 2 Final at Croke Park on April 15. The Orchard County clinched promotion to the top flight.
The Shane O’Neill’s star scored 3-3, including a hat-trick of goals within the opening nine minutes. Armagh turned on the style to land the second tier silverware.
Mackin finished as top scorer in Division 2, with an incredible 9-31. Named on the Lidl national league division 2 team of the season. The all-star was won the TG4 senior players’ player of the year in 2020.
This was a fifth inclusion on a division 2 team of the league selection for Mackin. Previously; included in 2022, 2019, 2018 and 2015. Mackin was also part of the 2017 and 2016 Division 1 selections.
Next Sunday, the attacker is set to play a key role for holders Armagh against Donegal in the TG4 Ulster Senior Championship.
