A last gasp Ross McQuillan goal saw Armagh a four point win over Cavan in the Dr McKenna Cup.
The sides were level at 11 points a-piece after 70 minutes. McQuillan’s goal five minutes into stoppage time sealing a 1-12 to 11 point win.
Cavan had led three points to no score after 18 first-half minutes. Armagh fought back to lead six points to three at half-time.
Points from James Smith, Conor Madden and two from Gearoid McKiernan saw Cavan seven points to six, five minutes into the second half.
The sides exchanged scores until to level the score 11 point’s a-piece on 70 minutes. Rory Grugan edged Armagh a point ahead two minutes into injury time.
Three minutes Rian O’Neill’s expert pass found McQuillan who found the Cavan net and saw the hosts to a four defeat in their opening 2022 encounter.
