A number of quarter final spots have been filled but others could still go through or drop into a relegation battle
The final round of games in the Cavan senior football championship this coming weekend will decide the quarter final and relegation positions. Ramor United who have a bye in Round 5 as well as Gowna, Kingscourt Stars and Cavan Gaels have all secured places in the last 8, while laragh United, Lavey, Mullahoran and Ballinagh will look to join them. Defending champions Crosserlough are currently 9th in the championship league table, which would ensure they retain their senior status for 2022 but would see them miss out on the knockout stages. Lacken, Killygarry, Shercock and 2019 champions Castlerahan currenlty occupy the relegation play off spots, and will require victories in the final games coupled with favourable results elsewhere if they wish to make a move up the table. With the final round of games all throwing in at 4pm next Sunday, regular Cavan GAA correspondent Damien Donohoe remarked that every team has still plenty to play for
