Aaron McKenna has headed off to Japan for his opening fight in the Matchroom Prize fighter tournament in Osaka.
The Silencer, unbeaten in 18 fights is set to face Jeovanny Estela in the quarter-final on Monday July 15th. Estela is also unbeaten in 14 outings.
The Monaghan boxer has been in training camps in both America and England, taking in high quality sparring as part of his preparation.
Time was spent in the ring with the current WBA & WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford. McKenna remarked at a recent press conference that it was an invaluable experience.
It is a busy time for the McKenna brothers with Stevie set to step back into the ring on August third. When he faces England's Joe Laws for the WBC International Silver Super Welterweight title in Barnsley.
