With Down having claimed 1 of the last 4 spots in the Bank Of Ireland Dr Mc Kenna cup it leaves 6 other sides looking to fill the 3 remaining positions. Among them will be Cavan and Monaghan with the Breffni side in the better position to reach the knock out stages as they registered a win over Antrim on Sunday and know a victory over Armagh tomorrow evening in Kingspan Breffni will secure them a semi final spot. The Orchard county will also be in a similar train of thought as a draw or win should be enough for them to progress, while their +12 scoring difference should be enough to keep them in contention with the best runner up spot should they suffer a defeat. Tyrone and Derry will meet in Owenbeg with again the winner making it to the last 4 while Monaghan and Donegal face each other in Ballybofey with a very slim chance of progressing in the competition and will be more focused on getting a winning performance after both sides lost to Down. Farney manager Vinny Corey is expected to once again give a run out to panel players and a number of senior debuts as he noted that is what this pre-season competition is for
