Seamus Mc Enaneys side will face Tyrone in the opening round of the Allianz league
Monaghan get their Allianz National football league underway this Sunday when they make a 2nd trip to O’Neills sportswear Healy park Omagh following their Bank of Ireland Dr. Mc Kenna cup success last weekend over Donegal, to this time take on the All Ireland Champions Tyrone in their own back yard. The sides met in the summer of last year in the Ulster final with the red hand county winning by 1 point before going on to claim the Sam Maguire cup. Their pre-season form has been poor by their own high standards with losses to Cavan and Armagh, but speaking to Sean Mc Caffrey our regular GAA commentator Fergal Monaghan agreed that a trip to the back yard of the champions is not an easy start to the campaign
