It's expected a new Down syndrome centre for the North East will open in County Monaghan in January.
Local families with children with Down syndrome are behind the move.
Currently there is a Down syndrome centre in Dublin, Cork and the Midlands, but families here in Cavan and Monaghan believe there is a demand for one in the local region.
