Among all the Irish Paralympians representing the country in Tokyo recently, there were many more local connections to the Games.

Two-time Australian Paralympian Sarah Walsh competed in the long jump event, but has strong connections to County Monaghan.

While her father is from Carrick-on-Suir, Sarah’s mother Patricia is originally from Clones town.

Sarah is in hotel quarantine in Australia having recently returned from Tokyo, while Patricia is in lockdown in Sydney.

They’ve both been speaking to Aaron McElroy, with Sarah Walsh starting by explaining how the homecoming is much quieter to what she's used to.
