Refuge Centre for Monaghan ‘needed immediately’. In the last four years, since 2020, 37 women have been violently killed in Ireland. Moreover, this is in addition to the 25 women who tragically lost their lives through violence, in the North of Ireland. Furthermore, of those tragic 62 lives lost in Ireland; over 50% of suspects reported were partners or ex partners of the victim. Indeed, approximately 20% killed by a family member; and nearly 90% of perpetrators were known to the victim.
