Cavan Author launches new kids' book. A new book written by a Cavan grandmother tells kids today what it was like growing up in an Ireland where children roamed the countryside during long, hot summer days and picked blackberries in the autumn.
Ann O'Donoghue, from Swellan, has created the characters for "Orla, Mary and a Monster Called Seán"; with her own grandchildren in mind.
Like so many grandparents, she laments the amount of time children spend on phones and tablets today. Indeed, Ann wants to show children, in a fun way, that not so long ago childhood was simpler and more enjoyable.
Following our interview, Ann got in touch with Northern Sound to say "Orla, Mary and a Monster Called Seán" can now available in Cavan Geological office at the library at a cost of €10.00. Alternatively, you can contact Ann O'Donoghue on Facebook to arrange a copy.
