More parking spaces needed to relieve pressure in housing estates. That's according to Cavan County Council Noel Connell, who brought a motion to the most recent sitting of Cavan County Council on the issue.
Indeed, he called on the local authority to develop more parking spaces in council owned estates to alleviate traffic congestion. The Sinn Fein Councillor said there is also a very important safety issue; in relation to ensuring access for emergency service crews when entering housing developments.
Cllr Connell said most houses have two or three cars, but only space for one. This in turn is creating a bottleneck scenario. The local councillor spoke to Ronan Gargan.
