Mobile phone ban at schools welcomed locally

Minister for Education Norma Foley has will ask second-level schools to plan for a mobile phone ban by students during the school day.  A spokesperson for the Minister said Ms Foley will be writing to schools in the next week with advice and guidance around mobile phone use.

Local school teacher and Cavan County Councillor, Aine Smith, is welcoming the plans and as a result hopes a blanket ban will be announced.  Ronan Gargan from the Northern Sound desk has been speaking to Cllr Smith on the issue.
