Scotshouse Locals win Battle: Mast Removed by Eir. Locals in Scotshouse say they are happy by Eir's decision to reconsider the location for a mast in the village. According to local resident John Connolly; Eir have removed the mast that was located 12 foot away from a child's bedroom. A new location on the edge of the village for the telecommunications mast has now been secured by Eir. Indeed, locals assisted the Eir in finding the new location.
John says people power has won out against this proposed mast following up to 2 months of locals protesting in an effort to prevent the mast from going ahead. Eir workers tried to erect the 40ft high telephone mast in the local village but the community felt the site was totally wrong for the mast but did agree that a mast was needed in the area.
