A local man who has completed a walk along the entire length of the Irish border believes the BREXIT referendum was a "huge mistake" not only for the UK, but for Ireland and the entire European Union.

William Hanbury-Tenison undertook the walk to highlight what he has described as a "backward step" that he fears Brexit will bring to communities like Cavan and Monaghan.
More than 20 years ago there were 270 crossings along the 300-mile long border between the north and the south.

William lives in Bawn in Latton, he began his journey on Saturday the 18th February in Carlingford and walk along border areas in Cavan and Monaghan during his adventure.

William Tenison spoke to our reporter Pauric Clerkin, he has praised the Irish Government's response to the Brexit outcome but was very critical of Northern Ireland's response to the referendum result.
