The menopause is a topic that after years of shame and embarrassment around it is getting a lot of attention in recent days and weeks.
Women are starting to ask questions and open up about what a difficult time of life it is and it has now been raised in the Dáil with the hope of seeing more awareness and education around it too.
This week Sheila Naughton spoke to Monaghan GP Aideen Brides from Waterside Medical Centre about the stigma around the topic and also the symptoms, treatements, and lifestyle changes that can be introduced when a woman is experiencing the menopause.
