A local councillor has welcomed that EU funding has been secured that will allow the design stage of the N2 Clontibret to the border road scheme recommence.
It followed a two year hiatus due to lack of funding but this allocation will now allow for progression to get a step closer to having the upgrade on the N2 being carried out.
Cllr Paudge Connolly says it been very unfair that funding has been withheld for schemes like this over the past two years.
Ronan Gargan has been speaking to the Monaghan councillor who says the delays has had an increased concern on road safety and has been unfair to the large number of landowners who have had their lands sterilised for several years.
