Frustration is building in Cootehill over what people there are describing as "the lack of transparency" over the arrival of asylum seekers and those seeking international protection to the White Horse Hotel.
The matter was raised at this week's meeting of Cavan County Council when Cllr Aiden Fitzpatrick highlighted how a letter written to Minister Roderic O'Gorman asking that he talk to the community in Cootehill about future plans for area has remained unanswered.
Cllr Fitzpatrick spoke to the Wider View this week. He says a group has been formed in the town - The Concerned Citizens of Cootehill - and he has been asked by them to highlight their concerns around what is happening. First though, Cllr Fitzpatrick pointed to how the frustrations in Cootehill have been building since last February.
