The village of Glaslough in Monaghan has stopped the go ahead of a 19.5M mast that was approved by An Bord Pleanala following a Judicial Review.
The proposal to erect a mobile phone mast in the village of Glaslough had been met with widespread community opposition.
The planning application was refused by Monaghan County Council; however, that decision was challenged by the mast applicant Vodafone Ireland and permission was subsequently granted due to An Bord Pleanála's ruling.
The community set up a No Mast campaign committee and sub-committees, who brought the Judicial Review against Vodaphone and An Bord Pleanala with both organisations conceding to the application. .
The Glaslough No Mast Campaign Chair, Carole Donaghy has been telling our reporter Ronan Gargan all about this welcome development for the people of the village.
