Two friends are kayaking 320km from County Cavan to County Clare.
Beginning from Sunday Gavin Sheehan and Maccullin Skelly will be carrying out a River Shannon source-to-sea kayaking expedition with the goal of raising 20,000 euro for the Irish Cancer Society.
The trip will begin at the Shannon Pot, Co. Cavan and finish at Kilrush, Co. Clare, totalling a distance of over 320km over 7 days.
Over the course of the expedition the lads will paddle through all 11 counties that the Shannon flows through.
The two men are using the week long kayaking event to raise awareness around a cancer diagnosis.
Gavin Sheehan has been telling our reporter Ronan Gargan all about their long distance Shannon paddling trip.
