Cavan and Monaghan could be reconnected to the national rail network for the first time in decades. That's according to Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan, who has been discussing proposals in the new All-Island Rail Review which is set to be published at the end of this month.
Speaking to the Wider View, local Fianna Fáil TD, Deputy Niamh Smyth highlighted the "desire" that exists between Iarnród Éireann and the Department of Transport to bring the plan to fruition.
She began by highlighting how this something that can become a reality and she has worked hard to ensure that the region was included in the All-Island Rail Review.
