Rachel Woods from Tydavnet became the "Monaghan Rose" when her name was called out on stage at the Glencarn Hotel on Saturday night.
As a result, the 20-year-old will now represent County Monaghan at this year's Rose of Tralee Festival which will take place on TV screens across the country this coming August.
Speaking to Jodie Curran on The Wider View, Rachel who is currently working in the ASD Unit at St Tiarnachs Primary School in Clones, says she is still in "disbelief" and cannot wait to put her home village on the map.
