An exhibition has opened at the National Gallery in Dublin this week that focuses on the life of St Dympna.
Dympna is a legendry 6th or 7th century saint who was born in Tydavnett here in Monaghan.
Cllr Sean Conlon spoke to the Wider View this week about St Dympna's legacy which includes her status of patron saint of those with mental illness.

He began by explaining the type of person she was and how after a difficult relationship with her father, left Co Monaghan and went to Belgium where she engaged in outreach support and community care to those who were ill.
