A collective and cohesive plan to provide mental health supports is what is needed. That's according to MEP for the Midlands and North West Maria Walsh who visited Co Monaghan this week.
She met with with local Sosad and Plant Youth co-ordinators to discuss Mental Health and Youth Policy. Speaking to the Wider View, Ms Walsh said that more mental health supports are needed because suicide has a devastaing impact on entire communities.
She described suicide as "a silent pandemic" and one that needs to be addressed through strategic planning from Europe. First though, she began by explaining why her visit to Monaghan was so important.
