Tenants of the Shirley Arms Hotel in Carrickmacross have been successful in a historical grounds rent case.
Cavan/Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher who introduced the legislation under which the hearing took place said he was glad of the outcome.
According to Mr Gallagher this paves the way for anyone else in the situation across the county to be allowed to purchase the freehold of their premises.

Speaking to our reporter Ronan Gargan, the local senator said he was happy that the legislation was tested and proven successfully in the courts.
Senator Gallagher started his conversation with Ronan by explaining how this situation had come about before the courts.
