Road safety concerns on the N3 were raised at yesterday's monthly meeting of Cavan County Council.
Councillor T.P. O'Reilly brought a motion before councillors and members of Cavan County Council for the implementation of road safety measures on the N3.
The motion that was passed unanimously will now see the council members call for a meeting with the National Roads Authority to discuss the busy route.
The calls came following a few road collisions in recent weeks on the stretch of the road from Virginia to Cavan.
Councillor T.P. O'Reilly has been speaking to our reporter Ronan Gargan about his motion and he says speeding on the N3 is putting lives at risk.
