A Monaghan councillor has expressed her concerns over the lack of permanent accommodation for those who are suffering from domestic abuse across the region.
At a recent JPC meeting, it was confirmed that Monaghan County Council has now obtained a total of two new properties for the purpose of temporary accommodation for individuals and families in need, with the hopes of securing a third.
While Sinn Fein's Cathy Bennett welcomed the development of temporary accommodation in Monaghan, she believes that more "must be done" to protect those who are most vulnerable.
