This year's operation transformation has returned to our TV screens for the 16th season last week.
One of the five inspirational leaders are Monaghan native Maire Clear.
The 32 year-old lives with her mum Angela in Cashel, County Tipperary and works part time as an SNA with children living with disability.
Maire was born in Rockcorry and still as a lot of family members living in County Monaghan.
The Monaghan woman was born with Achondroplasia a genetic condition that slows down the growth of bone in the cartilage of the growth plate and says that her independence is extremely important to her.
She says she's fearful that her health and weight were going in the wrong direction and she says the whole experience of operation transformation has been life changing.
She's been telling our reporter Ronan Gargan all about being involved in the popular RTE one series and he started by asking her about how the journey has been going two weeks in.
To keep an eye on how our Monaghan native Maire Clear is doing, check out Operation Transformation that airs Wednesdays at 21:30 on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
