The Road Safety Authority says 21 per cent of all road deaths so far this year have been motorcyclists.
11 bikers have died in the last 4 months - 5 of whom died in March.
Gardaí and the RSA are reminding bikers to wear personal protective equipment, while asking other motorists to look out for motorcyclists at junctions.
Speaking to our reporter Jodie Curran earlier today, Brian MacUaid who is PRO of the Gone But Not Forgotten Bikers Memorial Mass, described the statistics as shocking and urged everyone to be careful on the roads ahead of the May Bank Holiday.
