Fianna Fáil Councillor Áine Smith is asking for more to be done at local and national level to promote the Irish language. The local councillor who is also an Irish teacher says the life of any language is to speak it and more needs to be done on getting people to make further use of the native tongue.
Cllr Smith spoke to the Wider View this week and she began by highlighting where her grá for the Irish language comes from.
