This afternoon (June 2) at the Diamond in Monaghan Town, Monaghan Comhairle na nÓg launched two pieces of work that they have been working on regarding the topic of alcohol and drug awareness.
The group had many online meetings to co-ordinate their work and have devised a wallet card on drugs and alcohol awareness and a poster that will be put up in underage drinking hotspots around the town.
Our reporter, Diarmuid Pepper, spoke to the Monaghan Comhairle na nÓg chairperson, Gabia Viz.
She began by discussing the launch and also talked about the wallet card which gives information on what to do in an emergency situation:

The Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, Colm Carthy, was at the launch, and he commended the group for their ownership of the project.
He said it's great to see Comhairle na nÓg take the lead on an initiative like this and praised the group for making the campaign about offering help and information, instead of lecturing young people on alcohol:
