The National Women's Council is holding a march for solidarity and inclusion in Dublin today. The organisation says the Government must tackle, what it describes as, the growing wave of racist violence facing the country.
Rachel Coyle - who is from Monaghan - is the Head of Campaigns and Mobilisation with NWC - and she says it is important to remember that people seeking international protection are fleeing war, persecution and poverty.
She spoke to the Wider View before the march kicked off. And she began by explaining that the vast majority of people do understand that the people who come here are fleeing violence, persecution and poverty.
