A Pakistani woman living in Monaghan for the past 13 years fulfilled a dream to meet the President of Ireland when he visited the town on Friday. President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins was in Monaghan Town to lay a wreath during the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Monaghan Bombing.
An excited and humble Aneela Gill was spotted with a bunch of flowers in her arms as she waited hoping to present the President with the flowers in gratitude for all that Ireland has done for her and her family. The President's staff obliged Aneela and she gave over her flowers and expressed her gratitude to Ireland through its Uachtarán na hÉireann.
Ronan Gargan spoke to her following meeting the president.
