Optimism turned to disappointment for the County Monaghan parents for children with special needs who travelled up to Dublin for a high-profile meeting with An Tánaiste Micheál Martin regarding services for the county. In the first place, the Tánaiste was not at the meeting, however, parents did get to meet with the Minister for Education Norma Foley and tell her directly why Monaghan needs its own special needs school, respite and day centres.
