Alan Dillon, Minister of State for Planning and Local Government, has today allocated €192,650 to local authorities to encourage participation of women and diverse groups in local government. Monaghan County Council received the highest allocation of €15,500 compared to elsewhere in the country.
The scheme, which offers support to local authorities for projects which encourage the participation of women and diverse groups at local government level, is now in its sixth year. Jodie Curran spoke with Minister Dillion following today's announcement:
