Having trained for many years to perfect their skills, seven local girls from Ballybay, Cootehill, Castleblayney and Smithborough are part of a group of dancers who have qualified to compete in the World Line Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida. This group of 7 girls have formed lifelong friendships through their love of line dancing. They have successfully competed in European championships in Belgium, Benelux Championship in Netherlands, and Shamrocks in Ireland.
This has culminated in their qualification to the UCWDC World Championship which takes place in Orlando on 28th of December. In addition to this, a local fundraiser has been organised in Ballybay Pearse Brothers on Sunday 1st December from 4pm to 6pm. This is an afternoon tea party & dance showcase where the girls will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they do best and it is any excellent opportunity for family, friends & the local community to show their support for the girls and wish them well as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
