The Chairperson of Sean McDermotts GAA club called into the Northern Sound studios to tell us all about the plans afoot at Drumgarve to develop and progress the club for the young players coming through the ranks today and in the future.
The club is not the only one in Monaghan to develop its pitches and training facilities, but it is reflective of what is going on around the country and what can be done with political will and the generosity of local people. Brian McPhillips told us how the club is really the heart of the community, with the sports hub, gym, hall and MUGA pitch available to use by community groups from all over County Monaghan.
And a new sensory room means children with additional needs can also feel like a Sean McDermott and their parents don't have to miss a game or social event.
Fundraising to continue the development at the club continues but Brian says special thanks must go to local politicians who helped the club secure funding to date.
