Listen back: Monaghan County Museum closes its doors for last time at Hill Street location

Monaghan County Museum will close at its current home on Hill Street in the town this evening for the very last time.

This afternoon will be the last chance to see the exhibits at Hill Street which has been the Museum's home for the past 40 years.

The county museum will move to a new purpose-built premises at the Peace Campus in early 2024.

The Monaghan Museum was the First Professionally Run Local Authority Museum in Ireland.

Museum's curator, Liam Bradley has been speaking to our reporter Ronan Gargan about the museum closing its doors for the very last time later today.

Liam has been telling Ronan that it's the end of an era for the facility but he looks forward to next when the new purpose facility opens.
