A funding allocation of €750,000 will go towards Monaghan County Council's improvement of local roads. At this month's council meeting, it was confirmed that the funding will go towards the future development of a pilot initiative that uses reclaimed asphalt, which according to Cathaoirleach Sean Conlon, could be used as a "national template" for the repair of roads.
