The twelve finalists for the Farney Foundation Co Monaghan People of the Year Awards 2024 were recently announced live on the Wider View programme. The Farney Foundation was founded by local man Brian Rudden and is a non-profit entity that promotes and supports anyone and anything associated with Co. Monaghan all over the world. Anyone who has, or who has ever had, a connection with County Monaghan was eligible to be nominated.
The black tie event will take place at the The Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday the 22nd of February and on the night a cheque will be given to the winner for a charity or cause of their choice. Mary Lamb for Scotstown is one of the 12 finalists. Jodie Curran has been speaking with Mary and began by asking her to explain more about her community work:
