Sinn Féin are to bring a Dáil motion today. They will demand that Government immediately establish an independent public inquiry into the death of Shane O'Farrell.
Indeed, the motion calls on the government to finally implement the Oireachtas resolutions. These called for the establishment of an independent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the Carrickmacross man's death. 23 year old Shane O'Farrell was killed in a hit and run on 2nd August 2011 by Zigimantas Gridziuska; a known criminal; who had breached several bail conditions at the time; and had multiple previous convictions in three different jurisdictions.
Ronan Gargan spoke to Shane's mother Lucia about the family's call for a public inquiry.
