Listen Back: Locals encouraged to 'get involved' with cancer research

Individuals with an intellectual or physical disability, or over the age of 65, can have cancer diagnosed at a later stage.  Therefore they have poorer outcomes in terms of death. That's according to a new research project.  The project, funded by the Irish Cancer , is taking place at Trinity College Dublin.  Moreover, "EuCan" is looking at the experience of cancer diagnosis and care of people who identify as being socially excluded.

Shauna Walsh is a research assistant with the EuCan project. Our reporter Jodie Curran spoke with Shauna and began by asking her to explain more about the project and how people from Cavan and Monaghan can get involved:
