Listen Back: Local disability advocate calls for sport to be more accessible

People from across the Northern Sound region will be cheering on Ireland's Paralympians! Particularly local athletes such as Britney Arendse as the Paralympic Games 2024 gets underway in Paris. David Cahill is a disability advocate from Ballyjamesduff. David calls on coaches of local and national athletes to do "all they can" to ensure that full potential is reached and even exceeded.

Additionally, David believes there are still visible gaps in the level of training and funding for athletes with a disability. Even at a local level.

Jodie Curran spoke with David ahead of tonight's opening ceremony, about what changes need to be made, in his view, in order to make sport more accessible and inclusive for everyone:
